Become a Member
There many types of memberships. See below for for more information on the various types of members and the benefits of each. Being any type of LPIN member automatically makes you a member of the Libertarian Party of Morgan County, Indiana.
National Membership:
National Membership means membership in the National Libertarian Party. This membership costs a minimum of $25 annually. As a member you will receive a National Membership Card, a quarterly newsletter filled with National LP news, and usually a new membership gift of some kind. Membership dues at this level go to supporting national ballot access efforts and presidential candidates. If you are not already a National Member, you can become one by going to LP.org.
Indiana Membership:
Indiana Membership means membership in the Libertarian Party of Indiana. This membership costs a minimum of $25 annually. As a member you will receive an LPIN Membership Card, a newsletter filled with LPIN news, and a porcupine lapel pin. Membership dues at this level go to supporting ballot access efforts in Indiana, Statewide candidates, and support for our many county affiliates. If you are not already a LPIN Member, you can become one by going to LPIN.org and selecting “Annual Membership” option.
1994 Society Membership:
The 1994 Society is the lifeblood of the Libertarian Party of Indiana. Monthly donations allow us to pay for all our recurring bills and help plan more outreach, campaign functions, and candidate support events. Being a 1994 Society Member means membership in the Libertarian Party of Indiana. This membership starts at a minimum $10 per month. As a member you will receive an LPIN Membership Card, a newsletter filled with LPIN news, and a LP torch lapel pin. If you are not already a 1994 Society Member, you can become one by going to LPIN.org and selecting “1994 Society Membership” option.
Lifetime LPIN Membership:
Joining the LPIN as a Lifetime Member is a strong statement of your support of our party and our values. Your donation goes straight towards growing our party and preparing for upcoming elections. This membership is a one-time $500 commitment. As a member you will receive an LPIN Membership Card with a “never expires” expiration date, a newsletter filled with LPIN news, and a Lifetime Member LP torch lapel pin. If you are not already a Lifetime LPIN Member, you can become one by going to LPIN.org and selecting “Lifetime Member” option.
Annual Triple Membership:
The “Annual Triple Membership” is an easy and convenient way for you to purchase multiple memberships at one time. This membership includes the $25 National Membership, the $25 Indiana Membership, plus a $10 donation to your local county affiliate (Morgan County). Total cost for this type of membership is $60 annually. If you would like to be a Triple Member, you can become one by going to LPIN.org and selecting the “Annual Triple Membership” option.

Volunteer
Some of these positions may currently be filled, but they are included so you know their responsibilities. It also does not mean you cannot get involved. Our directors have a lot of responsibilities and would welcome your help. So please reach out if you see anything that interests you.
Chair:
The Chair shall be the head of the LPMC, presiding over all meetings and conventions of the LPMC. The Chair is the official spokesperson for the LPMC. The Chair may appoint such committees as are deemed necessary to conduct the business of the LPMC.
Vice-Chair:
The Vice-Chair shall serve as presiding officer in the absence of the Chair. The Vice-Chair shall be responsible for the training and coordination of precinct committee persons.
Secretary:
The Secretary shall record the minutes of all LPMC meetings and conventions. The Secretary shall be the custodian of the by-laws and their amendments, the minutes of all meetings and conventions, committee reports, standing rules, and correspondence designated by the Chairperson. The Secretary shall be responsible each year for notifying LPMC members by a method reasonably certain to reach each member of the forthcoming expiration of their LPMC membership.
Treasurer:
The Treasurer shall be custodian of all funds. The Treasurer shall be the chief financial officer responsible for the filing of all campaign finance forms for the LPMC.
Event Director:
The Event Director oversees all aspects of event planning and management, including internal and external events. Responsibilities include finding and booking events, staffing the events, ensuring we have all necessary materials for events, and that all requirements are met for each event.
Volunteer Director:
The Volunteer Director will find and recruit volunteers as well as assign and manage them when needed. Responsibilities include recruiting volunteers, maintaining a list of their contact info and skill sets, organizing them for events, and keeping them motivated.
Outreach Director:
The Outreach Director will work with many other officers and directors to cultivate new contacts for membership, volunteer work, fundraising, and media. Responsibilities include promotion of LPMC events, coordinated messaging, and driving the plan to meet our outreach goals.
Political Director:
The Political Director will recruit, manage, train, and assist candidates running for elected office. Other responsibilities include finding and promoting Libertarians for local appointed offices, and assisting in local policy research, positions, and advocacy.
Policy Director:
The Policy Director will be familiar with local and county ordinances and help craft Libertarian based policies for promotion by the party and/or candidates.
Fundraising Director:
The Fundraising Director will manage all aspects of funding the organization. Responsibilities include maintaining a donor list and relationships with those donors, asking for donations when appropriate, working with other directors for fundraising events, and managing the LPMC gaming license.
Community Services Director:
The Community Director will be responsible for finding and managing community service opportunities. They will work with the other directors to drive the LPMC volunteerism efforts.
Canvassers:
Canvassers are people who go door-to-door and conduct surveys on behalf of candidates or the county party.
Phone Banking:
Phone bankers are people who make phone calls or text people to conduct surveys on behalf of candidates or the county party.
Outreach Booth Volunteers:
Outreach events require several roles to be successful. Whether it’s setting up the booth, talking to attendees about Libertarian principles, selling raffle tickets, or supporting other volunteers working the booth, there is a way to get involved in our outreach efforts.
Streamers:
Live Streamers attend meetings and either record meetings or live stream them so that we can post those videos on our social media accounts. Public access to the content of these meetings is imperative for Transparency, Accessibility, and Accountability.
